Graphics Specialist
Elin Odegaard joined the Neuger team in 2004. Her primary role is lead designer, responsible for a significant portion of the visual work at Neuger Communications Group. The majority of projects on her desk are print pieces, but her exceptional design skills also enhance our e-communications and web projects. Elin also lends her experience and insight to communication audits and branding strategies, and helps out at times with writing, photography, technology and event planning.
Elin’s approach to any design challenge is to first understand the core characteristics of the client and the ultimate communications goal, and then focus on the specific goals of the individual project. Understanding the client and their long-term goals provides a framework around which to create visual personality and consistency, strengthening the brand. It establishes a foundation on which to build a complete system of integrated communications. Knowledge of a project’s immediate goals allows her to tailor the design to its target audience and highlight key messages.
Elin's previous professional experience includes freelance design and an internship with a Minneapolis design firm. She graduated from Philadelphia University with a bachelor of science degree in graphic design communication. The program provided her with a broad background for design, including art and photography, technical skills, business fundamentals and general communications. It also offered an introduction into specific areas of the design field, such as exhibit design, packaging design, branding and systems design.
Now living in Northfield, Minnesota, Elin grew up on a family farm in the area. Despite her rural upbringing, she loved living in Philadelphia during the five years she spent on the East Coast. Elin keeps herself busy with a variety of interests including music, reading, theater, cooking, movies and, most recently, bowling. Current goal: 200.
Elin has been a member of AIGA, the Professional Association for Design, since 2005.
