Penelope Hillemann

A member of Neuger Communications Group since 2004, Penny Hillemann is an account lead for clients in healthcare. She is also the firm's lead writer, an editor and a web designer.

A former lawyer, Penny brings more than 20 years of communications and related experience to the firm. She served for seven years as web manager and communications associate at 89.3 WCAL, the highly regarded classical radio station serving the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota. Earlier in her career she practiced law in Milwaukee and served as a judicial law clerk for the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.

Penny holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and received her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School — an educational background that emphasizes clear and persuasive writing, sound research, insight into human motivation and plenty of good lawyer jokes.

The mother of three, Penny lives in Northfield, Minnesota, where she has served on several advisory boards, sings with a women's choir, enjoys gardening and bird-watching, and blogs at penelopedia.com. Though she is now a well-settled Midwesterner, she lived in Kenya for the first five years of her life and grew up in San Francisco.
